It’s ok not to be ok.

(I found this in my draft written either on 10.09.2017 or 2016. Although still very relevant it was too real to post. I feel less connected enough to it now for tumblr, and maybe I’ll post it on fb this September if I feel less associated to it - Enjoy)

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, some may call it WSPD because it’s easier to say/write or that the word suicide is too confronting. Personally I prefer to refer to it by its entirety. The key word here is prevention - prevention means to take precautionary steps before reaching a point of suicidal tendencies. To prevent is to acknowledge that suicide can affect anyone of us on a daily basis. It is sadly a common occurrence in today’s society that we so easily turn a blind eye to. We live in a world that pressures us to be perfect, to have the best and be the best at everything in life - school, job, money, relationships, family, friends, looks, sex, posessions, our personality, and even our leisure times are being compared and critiqued. The reality is that there will always be something better than the best. To attain the best of everything is impossible and the pursuit of it will eventually catch up to you, and more often than not, it will break you down. Although I may be able to acknowledge these factors, I am far from immune from the affects that it has placed on me as an individual.
